Making cool bags* and playing with even cooler doggies is fun and all but I’ve been spending far too much time indoors. Today was supposed to be one of the few nice days left before large parts of Mount Rainier close for the season. Jeff had the day off so we agreed on a nice hike–something that we do well together (breakup or no breakup). The hike was just 5 miles but grueling. I’ve never dealt with high altitudes very well and this trail covered an altitude shift of 1,500+ ft, i.e. it totally kicked my butt.

Still, climbing that high up was exhilarating and the views very rewarding. Catching a gorgeous sunset in a national park is always a real treat. But capping the day off with glimpses of snow (+ obligatory stop to make a snowball) and a hearty Mexican dinner was icing on the cake.

*The remaining two bags in my limited run will be posted later this week. I came up with some new ideas this weekend and will test them out tomorrow.
